Production Manager

Mid-City, Los Angeles

This position supports the entire production including Directors, Producers, Heads of Departments and artistic teams. It requires the ability to strategize, create, manage, prioritize and organize the schedule, budget and production needs of the production. The Production Manager ensures efficient and on-time delivery of assets, sequences and images for the entire movie.


  • Manages the overall show schedule and coordinates daily workflow of the movie
  • Work with Department Heads, Production Team, and Producers to schedule and plan production milestones and goals for each department
  • Ensure milestones are met and troubleshoot issues in order to hit goals
  • Determine current and future staff needs based on input from Production Team and Department Heads - includes managing overall crew size and start/finish dates
  • Responsible for flagging potential problems in any of these areas to Producers and Studio Management
  • Work with Producers and Production Accountant in creating and maintaining weekly staffing schedule
  • Create and maintain production management and tracking systems
  • Alert team of issues, problems or delays - particularly those impacting costs or budget - and be prepared with solutions whenever possible
  • Delegate and empower the Production Staff to manage their departments schedules and goals based on changing priorities for the film
  • Encourage teams to learn and understand how their departments affect others in the pipeline
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to production staff
  • Run weekly production report meetings and other department weekly meetings as needed
  • Participate in initiatives to develop and maintain crew morale
  • Participate in staffing strategy and help anticipate increases/decreases to crew size
  • Work collaboratively with Studio Management on staffing, training, space and other areas where show needs and studio plans overlap
  • Manage day to day needs of the film as it relates to the animation production vendors
  • Partner with show leadership within the vendor team to make sure they are managing to deadlines and hitting milestone dates


  • 5+ years experience in a production role on an animated feature film
  • Highly organized, resourceful and dependable 
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
  • Prior experience with Shotgun or other production management and tracking systems 
  • Must be both an effective team-player and capable of working independently
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
