Editorial Coordinator

Mid-City, Los Angeles


Skydance Animation is looking for an Editorial Coordinator to join its first feature film! This position reports to the Production Supervisor and supports the Editorial team. Candidates should have a passion for Animation and the ability to prioritize and manage the workflow of the department and overall show needs.


  • Works with Story/Editorial Production Supervisor to manage Editorial team
  • Assist Production Supervisor and Production Manager in maintaining deliverables, deadlines and inventory, ensuring departmental productivity goals are met
  • Manage schedule for completion of work on the production and task tracking for department
  • Attend all Editorial meetings and creative reviews with leadership – coordinate schedules, prepare agenda, prep space
  • Responsible for accurate input and updating of Editorial data in Shotgun
  • Transcribe meeting notes for distribution
  • Help create breakdowns from scripts and animatics
  • Coordinate and oversee scratch records and script lining, track dialogue and line numbers, catalogue script notes and changes, and conforms scripts
  • Work closely with the Script Coordinator on new pages and changes, manage Editorial change notes
  • Maintain and update scratch binders and files
  • Handle room preparation for screenings and meetings
  • Facilitate communication with partner studios, coordinate delivery of materials in a timely manner
  • Collect and turn in Editorial timecards
  • Handle food orders for department, as needed
  • Process panels from Flix


  • Prior experience as an Editorial Coordinator on an Animated production
  • Understanding of production pipeline and role of department
  • Knowledge of Shotgun required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office & Google Suites
  • Knowledge of Flix and Avid preferred
  • Detail-oriented, strong ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to anticipate issues and proactively identify to solve and address
  • Ability to confidently and professionally interact with others while under pressure, maintain consistent communication between team and studio
  • Able to thrive in a high pressure, deadline-oriented environment where priorities and demands shift
