Script Coordinator

The Script Coordinator assists the writers and Producer in their daily production functions on our first feature film, specifically as they relate to story and editorial. This position reports directly to the Producer.

Responsibilities

  • Attend writer’s meetings and prepare follow-up notes
  • Transcribe notes into correct format for submission to executives
  • Support Story/Editorial on a need by basis
  • Proofread scripts
  • Distribute premise, outlines and script drafts and revisions to both production staff and executives
  • Attend production story meetings; prepare and distribute follow-up script notes for writers and executives
  • Attend Storyboard pitch meetings; prepare and distribute follow-up script notes
  • Attend Editorial reviews; prepare and distribute follow-up notes
  • Proofread storyboards for dialogue and other changes
  • Maintain and update comprehensive database and files of premises, outlines and scripts, including all drafts and submissions
  • Maintain and coordinate writing schedule, including updating and distribution of weekly script status reports
  • Attend weekly production meetings and provide updates at meeting
  • Prepare, track, and catalogue premise, outline and script submissions; track and catalogue script notes
  • Prepare “recording” and “as recorded” scripts
  • Attend recording sessions and update any dialogue changes/additions
  • Provide to appropriate production staff the cast list with line counts with every draft of the script
  • Track and coordinate pickup lines
  • Alert Producer of any writing issues

Requirements

  • Display proficiency in Final Draft, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Type a minimum of 55wpm
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in high pressure, fast-paced production environment
  • Good time management skills; good multi-tasker
  • Applicants may be asked to submit writing samples to gauge writing skill level
  • BA/BS preferred, or one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience as Script/Production Coordinator or PA on animated feature
